Step-by-step setup
Install TiViMate
Android TV and Google TV have it in the Play Store. On a Firestick it must be sideloaded with Downloader. For Apple, Samsung or LG there is no version at all, so use IPTV Smarters on that hardware instead.
Add a playlist
Open it, choose Add playlist, then Xtream Codes login. Enter the server address, username and password from your message and press Next. It will not ask for an M3U link and does not need one.
Name the playlist and load
Give it a name you will recognise if you ever add a second, then let the channels and guide download. It asks which categories to include; that choice is changeable later, so do not agonise over it now.
Set up the guide
Under Settings, TV guide, set the refresh interval to every 12 hours. The guide source travels with the Xtream login, so unlike some players there is no separate EPG URL to paste anywhere.
Optional: activate Premium
Premium is bought through the separate TiViMate Companion app on a phone rather than inside TiViMate on the television, which trips up nearly everybody. It runs about $9.99 a year or a one-off lifetime licence in the mid-thirties, with a seven-day trial, and unlocks recording, multi-view and multiple playlists.
Common errors and fixes
TiViMate says "playlist could not be loaded"
Check the server address carries its port and that the plan is still active. Then retype the password by hand rather than pasting, because text copied from a chat often brings an invisible space with it.
Guide shows "no information"
Force a refresh from Settings, TV guide, Update now, then restart the app. A first load across a large channel list can also simply need longer than people give it.
